Here's what astonishes me when I think about it: When my kids were small we co-opted my father-in-law's JVC video cam, which was roughly the size of a cigar box with appendages (and small for its type.) So, all video of our small children was obtained with that thing, which eventually died. For several year I considered buying another, but didn't. And nowadays similar quality footage can be shot with my tiny Canon digital Elph camera. It's just that with grown children we almost never do it.
